Language, Culture & Society

This course focuses on language, culture and society and is divided into three areas involving language and culture, language and society, and language and action. Language and culture covers cultural diversity, language change and aspects of socialisation while language and society concerns language in multilingual societies, linguistic varieties, language policies, issues, and challenges and language in action through technology and language camp.

Learning outcomes :
1. Discuss how language, culture and society are inter-related.
2. Select, organise and present relevant information pertaining to issue on language, culture and society.
3.Analyse issues related to language, culture and society.
4. Communicate clearly, fluently and confidently through critical discussions.
5. Reflect on learner's learning experience orally and in writing.
